Harbor Recipes is a recipe, meal planning, and shopping list app created by Harbor Peak LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information Harbor Recipes processes, how that information is used, and what choices users have.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies only to Harbor Recipes. It does not apply to future Harbor Peak products unless a separate privacy policy says otherwise.
2. Information Harbor Recipes Processes
Harbor Recipes may process the following information that you choose to create, import, edit, or share:
- recipe titles, summaries, notes, ingredients, directions, servings, categories, tags, prep time, cook time, and source links;
- meal plan entries and related notes;
- shopping list items, store assignments, quantities, and completion status;
- recipe photos that you add from the clipboard or import from a recipe page for local storage;
- app preferences such as default shopping store, local category corrections, and store layout ordering;
- clipboard text only when you intentionally use a paste action inside the app; and
- recipe webpage URLs that you intentionally ask the app to import.
3. How Harbor Recipes Uses Information
Harbor Recipes uses this information to:
- store and display your recipes, meal plans, and shopping lists;
- import recipe content from webpages you choose;
- save recipe photos locally on your device;
- support features such as cook mode, meal planning, shopping list sharing, and store organization; and
- remember app settings and local preferences.
4. Data Storage
Harbor Recipes currently operates as a local-first app. Recipe, meal plan, shopping list, and settings data are currently stored primarily on your device.
Harbor Recipes does not currently require you to create a Harbor account. Harbor Recipes does not currently operate a Harbor-managed cloud account or online profile system.
5. Network Requests
Harbor Recipes may make network requests when you choose to use import features, such as:
- retrieving a recipe webpage so the app can parse recipe information; and
- retrieving a recipe image from a remote URL so the image can be saved locally to your device.
Harbor Recipes does not currently use these network requests for advertising, cross-site tracking, or analytics-based profiling.
6. Sharing
If you choose to share a shopping list or other content, Harbor Recipes uses Apple system sharing features. Information is shared only when you initiate that action and is sent through the destination you select, such as Messages, Mail, or another supported app.
Once content is shared to another app or service, that destination's privacy practices apply.
7. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
Harbor Recipes does not currently:
- use third-party advertising SDKs;
- sell personal information;
- track users across apps or websites for advertising purposes; or
- request App Tracking Transparency permission.
8. Future Features
Harbor Recipes may add optional cloud synchronization, backup, or household sharing features in future versions. If those features are introduced, this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe what information is stored in the cloud, how shared data works, and what choices users have.
9. Data Retention
Because Harbor Recipes currently stores data primarily on your device, your information generally remains there until you edit or delete it, remove the app, or otherwise remove the data through device-level controls.
10. Security
Harbor Recipes is designed to keep your information local to your device where possible. However, no storage or transmission method is completely secure, and Harbor Peak LLC cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your Choices
You may choose whether to:
- create, edit, or delete recipes, meal plans, and shopping list items;
- import recipe content from webpages;
- save recipe photos locally;
- share shopping lists or other content using the system share sheet; and
- remove app data by deleting content in the app or removing the app from your device.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Harbor Peak LLC may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If material changes are made, the effective date on this page will be updated.
